Here are a few pieces that I have been working on for my website design.

They are 2 variations on a design that I have been thinking of using.

The next image is a snapshot of the interface, but I am still trying to tweak certain elements. One thing I am working on is trying to decide what (if anything) should be added to the top of the menu bar. Additionally, I was wondering if the color of the text is too boring, or if it works ok. image

visualizations map

April 12, 2009

I got some advise from Anezka to arrange my ppt. by breaking down the different visualizations styles I went through. I thought I would change it slightly, and incorporate what worked and what didn’t, before proceeding and showing the various tests I worked in each section.

Here are 2 different background layout ideas I have been thinking of – these were 2 of the more successful ideas, even though they are not fully finished.
Just trying to get an idea of the look and feel.

Updates

March 26, 2009

So, my thesis form has (once again) changed. I’m now working in flash, creating a program that will allow the community to see in advance, the potential changes to their buildings. So far, I have been in contact with Pat in Kingston, and I am going to email her tomorrow with a more updated prototype, to get some feedback from her before I go up to Kingston on Monday. I hope to get the pieces in the piece for tomorrow, so I can make sure everything I put in falls inline with the design standards.

Since I have been focusing on the coding, I have started to sketch out the layout, and have been playing around with a few options. I really want to make sure the function is there, and this weekend I can finalize the design aspect.

peer review flash tests

March 14, 2009

Here is a link to my first flash test for my thesis. It was coded using information from previous flash files I had worked on in undergrad – I’ll add the references to the files in my code.
Peer Review test

Here is the most recent file created for peer reviews. It is still very much a work in progress, and it’s not designed or styled – just a coding test. The designing and cleaning up the interface is this weekends project.
